What Is Sphero?

Sphero is the first robotic ball gaming device that you control with a tilt, touch, or swing from your smartphone or tablet. You can even use Sphero as a controller for on-screen gameplay. This means big things for you developers. With Sphero, users no longer have to tilt their device to control or cover the screen with their fingers.

What the others are saying

  • I would say the difficulty level is pretty much beginner level. Objective C does probably look scary at first to most people but if you have come far enough to have an app, adding sphero to it will be a breeze.

  • Tilting the screen is in my opinion very intuitive, but it's also problematic, notably calibrating the direction and angle of the screen; visibility problems with reflecting lights; or really just moving an iPad around - it gets tiring rather quickly. All of these problems are solved by just using a Sphero to play.
